Air fried Chickpeas

Chickpeas or garbanzo beans are a powerhouse of nutrition. They are rich in protein, iron, fibre, zinc, B vitamins and much more. Not only are they considered a superfood, they taste great too, whether in a salad, curry, cutlets or just as a snack!πŸ’₯

As the title suggests, this recipe is going to be a simple snack which you can make and store in bulk and munch on them all the time! A small warning though, these are pretty addicting and are going to get over sooner than you know it! πŸ•Ά

Alright, let’s dive right into the recipe, shall we? πŸ’«

You will need:

  1. Chickpeas, cooked, rinsed and drained
  2. Spices of your choice
  3. Salt to taste
  4. A tiny amount of coconut oil to get the spices to coat the chickpeas
  5. A huge amount of self control πŸ›‚ (LOL)

Method of preparation:

  1. Pat dry the chickpeas completely using a dry towel or anything that will do the job. Be careful not to mash the chickpeas.
  2. Place the dry chickpeas into a bowl and add salt and the spices you desire. (Stick to the end of this post for some good spice combinations)
  3. Now add the Coconut oil and toss until everything is coated.
  4. Airfry, let cool and enjoy! πŸŽ‰


Instructions on Airfrying:

  1. Preheat the airfryer at 180Β°C for 3 minutes
  2. Add in the coated chickpeas and airfry at 180Β°C for 8 minutes
  3. When the time is up, take the basket out, give it a good shake and put it back in for another 5 minutes, this time at 190Β°C to get things crisp.

And that’s it! You have an additive snack for daaays (no guarantee) made in just 15 minutes! Enjoy! 🎊


Spice Combinations:

  1. Chilli powder and cumin powder
  2. Cinnamon and /maple syrup
  3. Ginger, turmeric, lemon juice
  4. Onion, garlic, thyme
  5. Garlic, cinnamon, rosemary

These are just a few combinations that work in general, but you can always modify it to what suits your palette! πŸŽ†
